Today is International Teacher’s Day

October 5 is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in more than 100 countries around the world.

In 1994, UNESCO declared October 5 a professional holiday for all teachers and educators.

The choice of the day is due to the fact that in Paris on the 19th of the same year, a joint conference of UNESCO and the ILO adopted a document entitled “A Guide to Teacher Status”, which was the first international document regulating the work of teachers.

On September 16, 2010, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia unanimously adopted the draft law on amending the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Holidays of the Republic of Armenia.
